Had an amazing conversation with South High School Students on topics ranging from personal responsibility and accountability to defining compassion and empathy.
Thank you to Ms. Catherine Martin for inviting me to speak and allowing for such a free flowing exchange of information and ideas. Over the course of the day, the students shared their thoughts on a myriad of issues related to the legal system as we discussed the effects of drugs and the witnessing of domestic violence incidents on older children. I was able to share with them what I have learned from the people in the facilities, and the impact these two issues have had on their lives, especially when there was no healing from what had been witnessed.
We also discussed the Buddhist monks who are coming to the art center, and the benefits of observing the process of building and then destroying the sculpture.
Many of us wonder what we can do after we reach retirement age to keep active not only physically, but with our minds. Over our varied careers, we have amassed a wealth of experiences and sharing that with younger people in different venues is our responsibility. Looking forward to more conversations with students from other area high schools. #pueblocityschools #southhighpueblo #thriving #flourishingasaspiritualbeing #dothework #emotionalintelligence #beaware #increaseawareness #flourishing #humangrowth #discoveryourpotential #visionquest #connectwithyoursoul #developthemind #developtheheart #thrive #flourish #stateofmind #awareness #thrivingnotsurviving #beaware #mindfulliving #mindfullife #mindfulmoments #mindfulness #karma #fourdoorsofspeech #share #shareyourstory #authenticity #beauthentic #ubuntu
